I worked today and tomorrow, have Tuesday and Wednesday to organize, pack, and clean up loose ends, then Mark and I fly out on Thursday.
Mark and I fly direct to Amsterdam, and then on to Geneva, Switzeland. We'll probably taxi from there to Annecy and hope to be there by 1pm. The rest of the group are arriving at different times from different airports. We should be able to get our rental bikes, and hope to do a late afternoon spin around the lake to shake out the legs and the bikes.
Then, on Saturday the 28th, we start the real ride with the climbs. Can't wait! With some luck and a lot of pedaling I'll complete all 7 days, 400+ miles, and 40,000+ feet of climbing.
I hope to be able to update this blog several times a day, with pictures, but we'll see if the mobile internet has reached the French Alps! If not, we'll know by Saturday evening.
Hey Dave,
ReplyDeleteYou and all your biking buddies impress me to no end! Just the thought of riding my bike up a hill is daunting to me, let alone a mountain! May the wind be behind you, the open road before you and a nice cushy seat safely under you at all times! Can't wait to experience this adventure vicariously!
Love,
Bonnie :-)
